Lining the walls of the canal that runs past Sydney’s airport, the requirement was for a large format block with a split face, designed to support the ecosystem of the surrounding waters. Capricorn has the ability to split blocks up to 1200L and 600H, in almost any thickness, for cost effective yet beautiful infrastructure projects.

This landmark project in the Sydney CBD had a huge demand for sandstone products. Reclaimed sandstone, however, was not always able to meet the requirements of the project, so Capricorn sandstone was used for a number of elements, including large split blocks for the steps and walls in the amphitheatre at Munn Reserve

The owners wanted a contemporary yet rustic wall cladding for renovations to their existing beachfront property. A split faced wall cladding was chosen for its ease of installation over an existing substrate, providing a neat but textural finish and complement to the recycled timber.

The architect approached Capricorn Sandstone after being let down by another supplier, and needed some quality walling for a high-end retirement village project. Capricorn was able to supply on time and on budget, and the end result is a dramatic, modern façade in neutral grey tones.
